Sanctuary is celebrating 36 years of service to the community. In order to celebrate its accomplishments, the non-profit organization hosted an open house throughout the day. Executive director Sarah Thomas Nededog says the Sanctuary serves more than 1,400 young people and their families every year.

Despite the funding challenges they experienced early this year, the organization were still able to give services to the youth. "We didn't close our doors this year," she said, "We're thankful for that. That was, by far, our greatest accomplishment to provide services to more than 1,000 young people with our various programs."

Nededog says Sanctuary is currently working on submitting a formal application for accreditation.
