This late fall, you can fall in love with San Francisco without breaking the bank. It may be one of the priciest lodging scenes in the U.S., but we found a trio of hotel deals that you simply can’t skip, all within walking distance to the Union Square area. Stay at a top-rated luxury spot for only $375 a night; book an overnight at an Art Deco landmark for $99; or cozy up at an intimate spot for just $59.
Mandarin Oriental for just $375/nt
A stone’s throw from Union Square, this grand Asian-inspired hotel deserves each of its four stars. WCities.com writes, “The elegant and luxurious Mandarin occupies the top 11 floors of one of San Francisco's tallest buildings, and the accommodations are, likewise, close to heavenly. Encased in twin steel and glass towers, the rooms offer top-notch facilities.” On-premise facilities include the award-winning Silks restaurant; the stylish Mandarin Lounge; and a well-equipped fitness club. Rates typically run north of $500 a night so this deal for $375 saves you serious dollars.
Stay at Maxwell Hotel for $99/nt
A hop and a skip from Union Square, this Art Deco landmark building houses the area’s most upscale three-star property. Fodor’s writes, “This handsome, stylish hotel immediately impresses with its dramatic, curtained-off lobby and boldly patterned, richly textured furniture. Rooms have a clubby, retro look, with deep jewel tones, classic Edward Hopper prints on the walls, and drawings by bellman Jack Keating.” Rack rates run upward of $200 a night but you won’t have to cover this hefty cost. Hotels.com has rooms for only $99!
Save at Rodeway Inn for $59/nt
If you’re visiting San Francisco on a shoestring, we found the perfect deal for you. Hotels.com offers a stay at the very heart of downtown San Francisco, at Rodeway Inn, for only $59 a night.
