A seven-year-old Texas girl is dead after being hit by a pickup truck Christmas morning while she was riding her new bicycle in front of her house.
Police say the girl rode the bike into the truck's path as the driver accelerated from a stop at an intersection. She died at the scene.
The driver wasn't speeding and police say he won't face criminal charges. The girl's aunt says "she was only supposed to ride on the sidewalk."
More than 50 people held a candlelight vigil last night in Jacueline Solis' memory.
A great uncle says the little girl knew just about everybody on the block. He recalls she had gone caroling up and down the street Christmas Eve. He says he doesn't know how the family will be able to cope with future Christmases.
