MammothMountain, from $120 per person per night
The Midweek Madness Lodging package includes lodging and all-day lift tickets valued at $55 each. Located in central western California, the Mammoth Mountain resort is a 300-mile drive from Los Angeles and offers 3,500 acres of skiable snow in the eastern Sierra Nevada region. The deal includes a standard room with a queen-size bed (but no kitchenette) at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. The resort runs free shuttle buses every half hour.

When: Through Jan. 31, 2008. For Monday check-ins.

The Full Moon Snowshoe Tour package includes a one-hour guided snowshoe trek at Sky Mesa Ranch--5,000 acres in the ponderosa pine forests at the base of the La Sal Mountains--as well as a bonfire with a choice of soup, chili or stew; hot cocoa, cider, and wine; and accommodations. You can choose to stay at either the Dolores River Inn, with 16 rooms decorated in earth tones, or the Kiva Lodge, which opened in 2007; its 40 rooms are situated around a pool, a hot tub, and Kiva Café. Both lodging options are part of the adobe-style Gateway Canyons Resort in western Colorado's red rock country. The resort features more than 1,600 acres of skiing and snowboarding terrain and is located an hour's drive east of Spokane, Wash.

A special at Big Sky Resort in the Rocky Mountains offers a hotel room at the slope-side Huntley Lodge, including breakfast and lift tickets (valued at $75 per person per day). The package price saves about 20 percent off of buying the components separately. Big Sky offers 22 lifts and 3,800 acres of skiable terrain for beginner- through advanced-level skiers. Flights are available to nearby Bozeman, Mont., from Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Seattle.

New Hampshire
Mount Washington Resort, from $99 per person per night
Great for families, the Ski & Stay package at Mount Washington Resort near Bretton Woods, N.H., allows kids and adults to ski for free on Friday nights. The package includes a standard motel room at the Lodge at Mount Washington, offering an indoor-heated pool, a pizzeria, and other amenities. The mountain has four high-speed chairlifts. Nordic skiers can receive free equipment rentals and ski on about 60 miles of cross-country trails.

Crystal Springs, from $93 per person per night
The Ski & Stay package at Minerals Resort & Spa includes accommodations and all-day ski lift passes to nearby Mountain Creek Ski Resort, plus use of Minerals' amenities, including seven pools, a spa, and a fitness center. Rates start at $93 per person per night. Note that Grand Cascades Lodge is offering an identical package that begins at $99 per person per night. Whether they choose Minerals or Grand Cascades, guests will save $10 per night on the room rate and $11 off weekday lift tickets or $12 off weekend/holiday tickets for adults.

Pennsylvania
Pocono Mountains, from $56 per person per night
Budget Inn & Suites' Ski & Stay package includes accommodations and lift tickets for hitting the slopes at either Camelback Ski Area or Shawnee Mountain. Rates start at $56 per person per night for Shawnee and $61 per person per night for Camelback. Consider that a daily lift ticket at Shawnee is $42 midweek and $49 on weekends and holidays; a daily lift ticket for Camelback is $48 midweek and $55 on weekends and holidays. If you purchase this package for Shawnee on a weekday and pay $56, deduct the cost of the lift ticket and you're essentially paying $14 per person per night for the accommodations.

When: Lowest rates are based on midweek stays through ski season 2008 (most likely late March or early April).
