Convenient Care is described as a walk-in clinic for adults and children (18 months and older). No appointment is needed. Brainerd Medical Center is sponsoring and providing oversight for the walk-in clinic. Medical care is expected to cover common family illnesses such as bronchitis, cold/cough, ear complaints, bladder infections, sinus infections, strep throat and minor skin infections and rashes, Brainerd Lakes Health reports.

Care is provided by a nurse practitioner or physician's assistant, working with Brainerd Medical Center's staff of physicians, Brainerd Lakes Health reports. Deb Lee, family nurse practitioner, will be treating patients at Convenient Care. Lee has more than 10 years of experience as a nurse practitioner in urgent care, family practice and behavioral health. She has a master of science degree from the University of Minnesota and a nursing degree from Moorhead State University.

Dr. Richard Roberts of Brainerd Medical Center will be overseeing the Convenient Care clinic. He also is the physician overseeing the Urgent Care clinic at Brainerd Medical Center.

"We hope that Convenient Care addresses the need in this community for quick access to this defined scope of health care when it is needed," Roberts said in a news release. "For patients who have an earache or a sore throat, this clinic will provide a great place to be seen on your schedule."

The Brainerd Lakes Health launch of a Convenient Care clinic addresses a community need for access to care without a scheduled appointment, the company reported.

The Convenient Care clinic is next to the pharmacy at Cub Foods-Baxter and will initially be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
