A Detroit airport spokesman says a Northwest Airlines flight was evacuated and searched by police dogs before takeoff.
Detroit Metropolitan Airport spokesman Mike Conway says authorities removed passengers from Flight 467 before the scheduled 1:30 p.m. departure for Atlanta.
He says officers and police dogs searched the plane.
Northwest spokeswoman Michelle Aguayo Shannon says passengers were taken off the plane and re-screened "in the interest of passenger safety." Details of the security issue were not released.
Shannon says no arrests had been made, and passengers had not been allowed back on the plane two hours later.
Northwest is Michigan's largest passenger air carrier.
