A Berkshire Hathaway shareholder and Omaha native spent $100,000 to buy a signed portrait of billionaire Warren Buffett.

John Morgan of Minneapolis, Minn., is also a former national board member of the charity that benefits from the sale, so he had a number of reasons to buy.

Morgan said Friday he's a big admirer of Buffett, who is Berkshire's CEO, and Girl's Incorporated of Omaha, which provides educational and recreational programs for girls.

Morgan is CEO of Winmark Corp., which owns and franchises retail businesses, including Play It Again Sports. He plans to hang the painting in his office now, but donate it later.

Roberta Wilhelm of Girls Incorporated says it's marvelous to receive a $100,000 donation in today's economy.
