A Colombian radio station is reporting that leftist guerrillas have announced they will release six hostages in the coming days.
A copy of the rebel statement e-mailed to The Associated Press by Radio Caracol calls the release a gesture of good will aimed at starting up talks for a prisoner exchange.
It says three police officers and a soldier will be freed first, followed by an ex-governor and a former congressman.
Radio Caracol reported on the statement from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia on Sunday.
The FARC's statement did not give a date for the release but said it would happen "soon."
