Why it's a deal: A four-night stay at the hotel would normally cost $1,173 per person with all taxes included. On Kayak, we found a $613 round-trip flight for travel in mid-May (Singapore Air). So if you booked this independently, you could expect to pay about $1,786 per person. This Globotours package saves you $399 including taxes, and it provides a city tour.

Lodging: You'll stay in a Superior Garden View room at the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzan-so. The 259-room hotel is surrounded by a 17-acre Japanese garden. The hotel isn't located in downtown, so you'll want to familiarize yourself with the Metro system or be prepared to pay for taxis. The amenities, though, are numerous: complimentary newspaper daily, overnight shoeshine, in-room Wi-Fi, a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor pool, and access to the spa, with a 10 percent discount on any spa treatments. There's also a 20 percent discount at the hotel's restaurant.

Highlights: On your included city tour, you'll stop by the National Diet (Parliament) Building, a Shinto shrine, the Imperial Palace Plaza, and more landmarks.

More: A two-night extension to Kyoto includes tours and tickets on a bullet train for $999 per person. You can also choose to add nights at the Four Seasons in Tokyo; the cost will depend on booking time and availability.

Before you go: The trip price includes a voucher for bus service between the airport and the Sunshine City Prince Hotel (about half an hour). From there, travelers will have to take a taxi to the Four Seasons (about $20). U.S. citizens will need a valid passport for travel; a visa is not required.
