Who takes a four-and-a-half month honeymoon?

The winner of this week's top-rated image from our It’s A Snap travel photo contest.

Newlyweds from Austin, Texas, Justin Burniske and his wife Jessica saved up enough money to enjoy an around-the-world honeymoon to Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Egypt and Europe.

While on their second stop in Chiang Mai, Thailand, they saw numerous Wats (Buddhist Temples), each one with a pair of dragons at the entrance to ward off evil spirits.

With his Canon Rebel XS, purchased especially for their whirlwind tour, Burniske captured the winning shot.

“We have 30 or 40 shots of dragons at entrances, but this one struck me and stood out because it had multiple heads.”

How could the young couple manage such a long holiday?

“We saved for it. We didn't stay in 5-star accommodations, we budgeted ourselves. The cost of travel is fairly inexpensive in Thailand (and most places)  — it wasn't until we got to Europe, we felt the crunch.”

To save money, the Burniske's also stayed with family and friends in India and Europe.

Sounds like a trip of a lifetime for Justin and Jessica. What a way to start their new adventure — marriage.
