Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin isn’t sharing any details about her political future but her first hours as a private citizen appear to be starting out following an American summer tradition.

On the eve of her resignation she held a picnic in Anchorage, then loaded up her family in an RV and drove seven hours north to Fairbanks.

She used her Twitter account to let more than 100,000 supporters know about her summer road trip with “a camper full of kids and coffee.”

In these final days in office, Palin has frequently used Twitter to share the serious and the silly. Her tweet last night even detailed her predilection for country music.

“7 RdTrip 7 hrs wKid Rock/Martina McBride/Big&Rich/Grtchn Wilson/Billy Currngton/Hank/Toby/VanP/Blk I P’s/Greenwd/Straight/etc&USO artists=heavan.“

Palin will hand over power to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell in Fairbanks at Pioneer Park on Sunday afternoon. Thousands are expected to gather to witness the transfer of power. She’ll leave a private citizen, driving away in the RV to continue her road trip and her excellent adventure.
