Ridgefield's council president says embattled Mayor Anthony Suarez must step down.Nicholas Lonzisero spoke Monday as pressure mounted for Suarez to resign as the state was to begin a review of the northern New Jersey town's business dealings.Suarez was one of 44 people arrested on July 23 in a federal corruption and money laundering investigation. Two other mayors also arrested have since resigned.Gov. Jon Corzine said he would issue an executive order to freeze all applications, permits and approvals for development in Ridgefield. He also ordered a review of the town's development contracts.Suarez could not be reached by phone Monday. He has been charged with taking an illegal cash payment for his legal defense fund.
