Time may be responsible for damage to one of Omaha's statues honoring Martin Luther King Jr.
Officials said one of the granite slabs at the monument near 24th and Lake streets fell off. The slab featured the names of several Omahans who were active in the civil rights movement.
A second slab on the monument is loose. Officials said there's no indication that the damage was the result of vandalism.
