All eleven members of Greenpeace who took part in a Mount Rushmore stunt last month have pleaded not guilty.

On July 8, Greenpeace activists scaled the back of the monument, rappelled down the face of it, and unfurled a 65-by-35-foot banner reading, "America Honors Leaders Not Politicians: Stop Global Warming."

The incident has prompted the National Park Service to review the monument's security system.

On Friday, the defendants made their not guilty pleas in front of us magistrate judge Veronica Duffy.  They face up to 6 months imprison and a $5,000 fine for each of the four counts against them.  Those charged are set to face trial in Oct. All have been released on bond.
