A Clairton family is looking for answers after their dog was found wandering, hungry, thirsty and covered in blood.

'Cash,' an older, mixed-breed dog was shot twice in the face.

The pooch was found in a wooded area near East Drive Aug. 2

Animal Friends humane officers said X-rays show someone shot the dog, shattering his jaw and lodging a bullet in the animal's cheekbone.

Animal Friends is offering a $500 reward to catch the person who shot Cash.

Cash's owner said her children were giving the dog a bath when he ran from the yard.

Cash has undergone surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
