An intense manhunt in Washington Wednesday night after reports that 32-year-old Ryan Alexander Jenkins was seen near a marina at the Washington-Canada border, attempting to flee.

The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office confirms they received a tip Wednesday about a man matching Jenkins' description and driving a black BMW SUV, had pulled an empty boat trailer into the Blaine Marina in Washington. The BMW was found abandoned.

Later, a report of a man matching Jenkins' description was said to have arrived by boat at Point Roberts Marina. Deputies and U.S. Marshalls began a manhunt that turned up nothing, leaving them to believe Jenkins made his escape into British Columbia.

Canadian officials and Buena Park Police have been notified. Buena Park PD is planning a detailed announcement later Thursday. Jenkins is wanted for questioning after his former wife was found strangled to death and stuffed into a carry-on-sized suitcase and tossed in the trash Saturday morning.

Jenkins was a contestant on the "Megan Wants a Millionaire" reality TV show. VH1 released a statement saying, "Ryan Jenkins was a contestant on Megan Wants A Millionaire, an outside production, produced and owned by 51 Minds, that is licensed to VH1. The show completed production at the end of March. Given the unfortunate circumstances, VH1 has postponed any future airings. This is a tragic situation and our thoughts go out to the victim’s family."
