GALLUP, N.M. (AP) - Gallup, N.M., police say two men walking on the railroad tracks on the city's east side were hit and killed by a freight train early Friday.
Police spokesman Sgt. Matt Wright says the double fatality occurred about 1 a.m. when the two were struck by a westbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train.
The men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their names were not released. Wright says officers are trying to notify the men's relatives.
