NEW ORLEANS --

It was a stormy afternoon across southeast Louisiana on Friday.

An umbrella was a must-have in just about any part of the area. One WDSU viewer captured photos of water spouts in the Gulf of Mexico near Venice.

Darwyn Jarrell said he was working with a contracting company to repair the Southwest Pass Jetties when he and other workers spotted six water spouts in the Gulf, one of which crossed into the Mississippi River.
