Force Protection Inc., which makes military vehicles, said Monday it received a $52.8 million U.S. Army order for 48 of its Buffalo mine-clearing vehicles.
Work on the vehicles is expected to be complete before September of 2010. The company said it expects additional orders under the program, totaling up to 100 deliveries in fiscal 2010.
The company had $1.33 billion in revenue in 2008.
Shares of Force Protection rose 29 cents, or 5.4 percent, to $5.70 in midday trading. The stock has traded between $1.70 and $10.03 over the last 52 weeks.
