On Monday, August 31, Family Council will host Arkansas first ever online town hall meeting, Solutions for Health Care.

The town hall will be broadcast live over the internet from the Family Council office in Little Rock.

The focus of the meeting will be health care reform, with comments from a panel of health care and legal experts who will take questions online via Twitter and e-mail.

The meeting, slated to run from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Monday evening, marks the first time a town hall meeting has been live-streamed over the internet in Arkansas.

President of Family Council Jerry Cox said: President Barack Obama has pioneered online town hall meetings, and were doing the same in Arkansas. It is good that technology has progressed to the point that people anywhere in Arkansas can simply go online and watch this program on their computer just like a program on their TV.

Cox said he expects lots of people in the online audience to e-mail or Twitter questions to the members of the panel. Viewers can see the live broadcast by going to

Members of the panel will include:

Dr. Eugene Smith, Chairman of Arkansas Physicians Resource Council
State Representative Davy Carter of Cabot (House District 48)
Jerry Cox, President of Arkansas Family Council

Cox said, This town hall meeting is different from other health care town halls because we intend to focus more on what needs to be done to fix health care rather than on whats wrong with the plans being offered in Congress.

The Family Council is a conservative education and research organization based in Little Rock.
