(Boston, MA) -- Days after the high-profile funeral of Senator Ted Kennedy, Bostonians are debating whether the area surrounding the Mission Church, also known as Our Lady of Perpetual Help, should have been prettied up and washed clean.Leading up to the event, the Mission Hill area of Boston was invaded by cleaners rubbing graffiti off buildings, collecting trash and workers busily repairing the sidewalks outside the 131-year-old church.Boston Councilor Chuck Turner told "" that he believes Senator Kennedy would have thought all the cleaning clamor inappropriate, if not a bit of hypocrisy.He added, quote, "The glamorizing or trying to make a neighborhood look pristine that isn't everyday, I don't think that's helpful." City Council President Michael Ross thinks otherwise, believing the city was simply putting its best foot forward for an event where its images were transmitted around the world. Read more
