GOSHEN, Ind. (AP) - A northern Indiana recreational vehicle show will take the year off after being held for more than five decades.

Organizers of the Midwest RV Super Show had postponed the typical August event at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds, but have now dropped plans for a fall show.

Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council director Mark Bowersox says that because of the recession he doesn't think it could put on a decent show for dealers and consumers this year.

Bowersox says he believes RV sales will be stronger in 2010 and that the Elkhart County show will resume next August.

Elkhart County had a 16.7 percent unemployment rate in July following thousands of RV industry layoffs.
