The president and chief executive of the primary contractor at a former nuclear weapons complex in South Carolina is stepping down.
Spokesman Will Callicott says Chuck Munns' retirement from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions is effective Monday.
Munns took over at SRNS just over two years ago. He will be replaced by Garry Flowers, a senior vice president at Fluor Corp.
Munns has been traveling around the state as part of a recruitment effort to fill thousands of new jobs at the 310-square mile Savannah River Site.
Officials say the $1.6 billion received by the Savannah River Site in federal stimulus money will fund jobs cleaning up buildings and their surrounding soil and also make way for new projects on the property.
