Germany's economy minister is offering the support of his government and German companies in helping Brazil prepare for the 2014 World Cup.
Economy Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg is hoping German firms can win infrastructure, organization and security contracts to help Brazil prepare for the tournament.
Miguel Jorge, Brazil's minister of development, industry and foreign commerce, said many German companies had the "right profile" to help Brazil prepare for football's premier event.
While not offering details, Jorge said several German companies with experience in preparing for that nation's 2006 World Cup submitted proposals to help build or refurbish roads, airports and stadiums for the event.
Guttenberg is in Brazil this week for a series of meetings on economic cooperation.
