PHOENIX, Ore. (AP) - Police in the southern Oregon town of Phoenix say a standoff that started as a domestic dispute ended peacefully late Monday. Phoenix Police Chief Derek Bowker says 20 homes were evacuated during the standoff that lasted more than two hours. He says the suspect, 30-year-old Joseph Murdock, fired a shot during the incident, but it wasn't at anyone. Murdock has been charged with assault for allegedly striking his live-in girlfriend.
