The University of Central Arkansas football season opener with the University of Hawaii will be broadcast live locally onKARZFriday night, beginning at midnight.

UCA made the announcement on its website ucasports.comMonday.

The UCA Athletic Department has contracted with station KHNL in Honolulu to feed the game to KARZ Channel 42, which will broadcast it throughout Arkansas, with the exception of the Fort Smith area. The game will be shown on Comcast Channel 9 in Little Rock, Conway Corporation Channel 9 in Conway and on Channel 42 on all satellite providers and on ATT U-verse.

We appreciate the University of Hawaii and the WAC (Western Athletic Conference) for allowing us to provide the telecast for our fans in Arkansas," said UCA Athletic Director Brad Teague.

"We hope our Bear fans will stay up and watch our season opener against a great program. And special thanks to KARZ for partnering with us on this game. Without them, we would not have been able to make it work for our fans," Teague said.

UCA will have two live broadcasts at home during the season on KARZ, on Oct. 17 against Stephen F. Austin and Nov. 7 against Texas State.

The Bears and Warriors will meet at Aloha Stadium with a 7:05 kickoff, Hawaii time. UCA, which finished 10-2 last season, is ranked No. 12 in both of the FCS preseason polls. Hawaii, a NCAA FBS program, finished 7-7 last season, losing to Notre Dame in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.
