YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash-- A man accused of a 2005 double homicide will soon face trial in Yakima County. Alvaro Perez is currently in California, where he was found guilty of first degree murder in a different homicide case. After he's sentenced in California he'll be extradited to Washington.

The 2005 double homicide happened in Sunnyside. Two men were shot and killed in what police believe was a drug deal gone bad, involving Perez. Detectives recovered drywall dust in baggies, which was made to look like cocaine.

Perez has been served with a warrant and the Yakima County Prosecutor's Office plans to charge him with first degree murder for the Sunnyside shootings.

Sept. 18, 2009 is Perez's sentencing date for the California homicide. After the sentencing he'll be extradited to Washington. Currently, Perez is being held in Los Angeles County.
