The veteran officer was gunned down in 2007 when he interrupted an armed robbery at Dunkin' Donuts.Authorities captured Lewis six days after the shooting at a homeless shelter in Miami.Lewis had pleaded guilty to a general charge of murder; jurors decided it was first-degree murder, making him eligible for the death penalty.
