easyJet apologizes for Holocaust memorial photos

Budget airline easyJet has apologized for printing photographs of models posing at Berlin's Holocaust memorial in its in-flight magazine and says it has withdrawn all copies of the publication.

The airline said Tuesday it is still debating whether to continue its relationship with the magazine publishers, Ink Publishing.

Berlin's memorial consists of a field of 2,700 gray slabs near the Brandenburg Gate. It was designed by American architect Peter Eisenman. The photographs in November's issue of the magazine showed models wandering through the gray stone slabs.

Ink Publishing has also apologized for the pictures.

Uwe Neumaerker — director of the foundation that oversees the memorial — said it had not granted permission for the photographs.
