A 14-year-old student was in custody after an explosion inside a Detroit school, WDIV TV reported Wednesday.
No injuries were reported, but the 540 students at Phoenix Multicultural Academy were evacuated Wednesday morning after the device went off.
WDIV reported that school officials said the device, made of household cleaning chemicals, exploded in a hallway of the building at about 8:30 a.m.
Students from the pre-kindergarten-through-8th grade school were transferred to the nearby Roberto Clemente Learning Academy, the Associated Press reported.
The name of the student in custody was not immediately available.
