NBC NEWS HONORED WITH 16 HEADLINER AWARDS

The networks of NBC News received a total of sixteen National Headliner Awards. The winners of the 76th annual National Headliner Awards, sponsored by the Press Club of Atlantic City, N.J., were announced today by contest officials.

"NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" was honored with eight awards, and was the only network evening newscast to be recognized. “Nightly” swept the “Best Newscast” category - placing first for “The Inauguration of Barack Obama,” second place for “Remembering Sen. Ted Kennedy,” and third place for “Miracle on the Hudson.”

NBC News also swept the “Coverage of a Major News Event” category, including a first place win for NBC News/“Dateline NBC's”  “This Moment, This Time: Voices,” which aired on January 18 as part of coverage of the Inauguration of Barack Obama. 

Brian Williams is the anchor and managing editor and Bob Epstein is the executive producer of "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.” Jim Bell is the executive producer of “Today” and David Corvo is the executive producer of “Dateline NBC.”
