10.3 MILLION VIEWERS MAKE “NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH BRIAN WILLIAMS” NUMBER ONE EVENING NEWSCAST LAST WEEK

"NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams" was the most watched network evening newscast for the week of January 18 - 24, 2010, according to Nielsen Media Research data. During the week, "Nightly" saw 10.282 million total viewers, +1.775 million more than ABC "World News,’" 8.507 million and +3.741 million more than CBS "Evening News’" 6.541 million.

Season-to-date, Nightly leads World News by +1.018 million total viewers and is the only newscast to show year-to-year growth. "Nightly" had its best viewer advantage over "World News" last week since the week of the Beijing Olympics (August 18, 2008).

Versus the first quarter average, "Nightly" increased in homes (+2%) and total viewers (+1% or +98,000) while "World News" decreased in homes (-3%) and total viewers (-4% or -340,000). Versus the same week last season, Nightly increased +2% (+167,000) in total viewers, while "World News" decreased -7% (-628,000).

Last week, "Nightly" also led in the key demo adults 25-54. "Nightly" delivered a 2.6 rating A25-54, ahead of "World News’" 2.0 and "Evening News’" 1.6. With 3.238 million A25-54 (000) viewers last week, the newscast beat "World News" by +784,000 viewers. This is the 61st consecutive week "Nightly" has topped "World News" in this key demo.

As the number one network broadcast last week, "Nightly News" delivered a 6.6/12 Household rating, with "World News" in second place with a 5.6/10, and "Evening News" in third with a 4.4/8.

On its digital platforms, "Nightly" continued its strong performance with more than 4.9 million online streams for the week ending January 23, 2010.
