“We follow the light.”
That is how Michael Sheridan of Philadelphia’s Fishtown explained his vacation philosophy.
Sheridan and his wife did just that on a recent trip to Monticello, Va. “As the sun moved around the building, we found different places to see,” he said.
The amateur photographer submitted the top-rated image in this week’s It’s A Snap! contest.
Sheridan took a five-hour drive to Monticello in early April as a present to his wife after she completed grad school.
Growing up, Sheridan took a lot of family trips in the Southeast U.S. “I’ve always been a fan of southeast cities. Charm is always there wherever you go.”
The IT consultant said he doesn’t specifically go on trips just to take pictures, but he enjoys taking pictures while on trips. “I’ve always favored architecture,” he said. “Wherever I go, I’m looking for something historic.”
