“Today” Has Widened Its Advantages Over Both GMA and Early Show This Season In Homes, Total Viewers, and Key Demos
NEW YORK – June 24, 2010 – NBC News' "Today" continues as the No. 1 morning news program, dominating the competition for the week ending June 18 Last week's win marks "Today's" 758th consecutive week in first place.
Below are the ‘Today” ratings highlights for the week of June 14-18:
Highlights:
· TODAY averaged 4.843 million total viewers, a +20% (+821,000) advantage over GMA and +107% (+2,570,000) over Early Show.
·TODAY has now won 758 consecutive weeks in both homes and total viewers.
·In rating A25-54, TODAY led GMA by +31% (+4 tenths) and Early Show by +143% (+1 full ratings point).
·In rating A18-49, TODAY outperformed GMA by +44% (+4 tenths) and Early Show by +160% (+8 tenths).
·Week-to-week, TODAY widened its advantages over GMA in total viewers, rating W18-49, and rating W/M/A25-54.
·TODAY increased its delivery in rating W25-54 (+9%) versus the same week last year.
·Season-to-date, TODAY tops second-place GMA by +26% (+1,144,000) in total viewers and +41% (+728,000) in A25-54 (000).
·TODAY has widened its advantages over both GMA and Early Show this season in homes, total viewers, rating W/A18-49, and rating W/A25-54 compared to the same period last season.
TODAY II (9 a.m. hour) & TODAY III (10 a.m. hour) Highlights:
· TODAY II topped CBS Early Show for the week in homes (+28%), total viewers (+29% or +674,000), rating W/A18-49 (+67%/+40%) and rating W/A25-54 (+44%/+29%).
· TODAY II outperformed The View in rating M25-54 (+25%) and tied the ABC program in rating M/A18-49.
·Week-to-week, TODAY II was up +8% in rating W25-54.
·TODAY II increased its delivery versus the same week last season in homes (+5%), total viewers (+2%, or +51,000), and rating W25-54 (+8%).
·Compared to its 2Q’10 to date average, TODAY II was up in total viewers (+1%, or +15,000), rating W18-49 (+11%) and rating W25-54 (+8%).
·Season-to-date, TODAY II is up in total viewers (+16,000).
· TODAY III averaged 1.755 million total viewers and a 0.5 A25-54 rating.
· TODAY III added +5,000 total viewers week-to-week and also grew by +3% in A25-54 (000).
·Versus the same week last season, TODAY III increased its delivery in homes (+8%), total viewers (+5%, or +93,000), and rating W25-54 (+14%).
·TODAY III was also up in total viewers (+1%, or +16,000) versus its 2Q’10 to date average.
·Season-to-date, TODAY III is up in total viewers (+4%, or +78,000) and rating W25-54 (+13%).
On its digital platforms, "Today" continued its strong performance during the week ending June 19, 2010, with more than 12.6 million online streams. This marks a top ten overall performance in online video streams for "Today." TODAYshow.com's stories, blog, message boards and live votes were also popular with users.
