BRIAN WILLIAMS ANCHORS FROM THE GULF NEXT WEEK

"NBC Nightly News" anchor and managing editor Brian Williams will report live from the Gulf Coast region Monday and Tuesday of next week. This trip comes nine weeks after the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico first began and less than a week after BP appointed Bob Dudley to lead the oil spill and clean up efforts in the Gulf. Williams was the first anchor on the ground in the region after the story broke. This is his 16th trip to the region since Hurricane Katrina.

NBC News Chief Environmental Affairs Correspondent Anne Thompson, NBC News Correspondent Mark Potter, NBC News Correspondent Kerry Sanders and NBC/MSNBC Wildlife & Science Expert Jeff Corwin will join Williams, providing the broadcast with special reports from the region.

In addition to reporting for "NBC Nightly News," reports from the Gulf region will air on "Today," MSNBC, and msnbc.com. Also on , Williams and the producers traveling with him will blog on The Daily Nightly throughout the trip.
