Three people were arrested on Tuesday on charges related to a shooting that killed two people and injured six others at a birthday party earlier this month, Indianapolis police said.
The names of the suspects and other details were not immediately available. Police spokesman Lt. Jeff Duhamell said the suspects were in custody.
A masked man armed with an assault-style rifle opened fire Aug. 3 at the birthday gathering on the city's near west side. The gunfire killed the woman hosting the party and a man who had just arrived.
Those killed were Barbara Johnson, 37, and Charles Mays, 54, the Indianapolis Star reported on its web site.
"There has been movement, and we expect to release some more details soon," Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Sgt. Paul Thompson told the Star.
Around 30 people were attending the birthday barbecue when the shooting happened shortly after midnight, police said.
All of the injured partygoers have been released from hospitals.
