DANVILLE, Calif., Sept. 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ActionView International, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AVEW) today announced that the September 4th World Championship Full Contact (WCFC) event held before a capacity crowd at The Scrapyard in Ogden, Utah was a success. The WCFC pro-am event featured two professional matchups and seven amateur fights, including two female bouts.
The event broadcast, as well as the previous WCFC shows, is expected to be available on Comcast's video-on-demand service (VOD) in the Mountain West region by middle of September. The WCFC plans to expand the VOD offerings to all 11 Western states and, ultimately, the entire U.S. market. The broadcast of the September 4th event will also be made available on the WCFC website in the near future.
The WCFC is planning future monthly pro-am events at The Scrapyard and is expected to stage pro-am shows on a monthly basis in venues across the United States. Large-scale events with all-professional fight cards are also planned in selected markets.
In the two professional matchups, both at the 155 pound weight class, Steven Siler from the Riven fight team defeated James Francis who trains at Body Dynamics, and Dave Castillo from Jeremy Horn's Elite Performance gym defeated Jon Walser of Xtreme Combat. The results from all of the fights from "The Beginning" event can be found on the WCFC website at http://www.wcfc.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=184&Itemid=141.
"WCFC's September 4th event was a success with a capacity crowd, and we look forward to holding pro-am events that feature up-and-coming fight talent on a monthly basis," said Johnny Riche, head of fight operations for WCFC. "The Scrapyard is an excellent venue for these events, and we are already planning for the next event at this venue. The Scrapyard will be expanding seating capacity for upcoming WCFC events, and the energy and excitement generated on September 4th left little doubt that the WCFC can attract even larger audiences at future shows.
"The WCFC also expects to begin negotiations with larger venues outside of the Utah market for future full-scale professional events with WCFC titles on the line."
Fans are invited to visit the new WCFC website at for more information about future events and to find out about local area broadcasts of all WCFC events.
