CHATSWORTH, Calif., Sept. 9, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Chatsworth based Progressive Insulation will be participating in a seminar jointly sponsored by Eco-Broker, Liz Brown of Go Green with Brown, and Judy Rachel of EnerFit, Five Critical Steps Before Going Solar. The seminar will be held Saturday, September 11th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Keller-Williams Office, 1660 Hillhurst Avenue, Los Angeles, and is open to all at no cost.
Steve Anderson, President of Progressive, Brown and Rachel, will each be speaking to answer questions on the importance of energy efficiency and energy conservation measures as preliminary issues leading to an appropriate consideration of investing in solar electricity. There is great need for education in this area as both vendors and consumers frequently forget to recognize the whole house systems approach.
The California Public Utility Commission's goal of achieving energy neutral homes – homes that produce as much energy as they consume – through "advanced insulation systems" and solar power is the driver behind the consideration of the timely seminar subject. The CPUC hopes to achieve their goal by 2020.
EnerFit provides diagnostic testing and inspections for residential and small commercial buildings to ensure compliance with California's Energy Code. In conjunction with this testing, Rachel, President of EnerFit, qualifies homes for Energy Efficient Mortgages (EEMs) and does Home Energy Fitness evaluations. Rachel is a Home Energy Rater certified by CHEERS (California Home Energy Rating System), certified by Build It Green, a GreenPoint rater for new construction, a Certified Green Building Professional, and can be found at .
