President Barack Obama was promoting flexible workplace hours and policies to women business leaders on Tuesday when he showed off his own dexterity.
Some 20 minutes into Obama's speech, the presidential seal fell off his lectern with a clatter.
"That's OK, you all know who I am," he joked.
After a pause, he added, "but I'll bet there's somebody back there (backstage) who's really nervous. They're sweating bullets right now."
The speech was part of Fortune magazine's 2010 "Most Powerful Women Summit."
Obama said having family-friendly working arrangements is an economic competitiveness issue. He said that companies with flexible arrangements can have lower turnover and absenteeism and higher productivity.
