It seems a bit silly for Microsoft to compete against the iPhone and leave Windows Phone 7 without a simple copy and paste function. But a Microsoft executive has confirmed that it wont take as long for their mobile operating system to gain that feature as it did for the iPhone.
Andy Lees, a senior vice president of Mobile Communications Business at Microsoft, confirmed that copy and paste functionality would come to Windows Phone 7 in early 2011. And it should be a fairly simple process for users because it will come as a firmware update.
Microsoft has given a quick look at the copy/paste feature in development to journalists, who have said it seems to work well so far. It's not clear why Microsoft didn't include the feature in the initial release version of Windows Phone 7, despite early testers clamoring for it during development.
