(Nasdaq:MAKO), a medical device company that markets both its RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic surgical platform and proprietary RESTORIS® implants for minimally invasive orthopedic procedures known as knee MAKOplasty®, today announced the pricing of the public offering of 5,500,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $9.65 per share. Piper Jaffray & Co. acted as the sole underwriter for the offering.
MAKO intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to support commercialization, sales, marketing and general administrative activities, for research and product development activities and to fund working capital and other general corporate purposes. The closing of the offering is expected to take place on or about November 8, 2010, subject to customary closing conditions. In addition, MAKO has granted the underwriter a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 825,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.
