Big names like Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Kim Kardashian will be a part of a Twitter and Facebook walk out on Wednesday on behalf of Alicia Keys' Keep a Child Alive foundation to mark World AIDS Day.
Celebs will be boycotting the popular social media sites as a part of a "Digital Life Sacrifice" and won’t return until the charity brings in $1 million in donations.
"We're trying to sort of make the remark: Why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we're all from?” said Leigh Blake, president and co-founder of Keep a Child Alive.
The campaign -- which features Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Elijah Wood and Serena Williams -- includes "Last Tweet and Testament" videos from stars and appear in ads to show their digital death by lying in coffins.
