VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 30, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Frank Evanshen, CEO of WordLogic Corporation (OTCBB:WLGC), today announced the results of a study performed by San Diego-based Thibault Patent Group that demonstrates the validity and broad scope of the company's pioneering predictive text patents, dating back to 1999. The subjects of the report are U.S. patents 7,716,579, 7,293,231 and 7,681,124, held by WordLogic. Based on the report, the patents appear applicable to a very broad array of products such as PCs, smartphones, cell phones, PDAs, GPS, notebooks, netbooks, and other such devices.
WordLogic ( www.wordlogic.com ) is the developer of patent-protected predictive text software used in input and Internet-based search applications. WordLogic offers advanced methods of text and information entry into personal computing devices ranging from small handheld mobile devices like smartphones, to tablet and desktop computers.
"These patents have real inherent value, based not only on their massive number of applications in the marketplace today, but also future applications," according to Mr. Evanshen. "They are potentially infringed by hundreds of millions of existing product units."
Mr. Evanshen notes that WordLogic has six additional patents pending with the USPTO. "While the company has yet to benefit from the full value of its patents as they are being used, the review demonstrates that our intellectual property patent portfolio, as stated in each separate, individual patent analysis, is worth potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in licensing revenue."
