A puppy finally made her way to her new home in New York on Saturday after she was temporarily lost by Delta Air Lines, CBS News reports.
Joe DiTomaso of Queens had bought a puppy, named Blue, from a man in Alabama. He made arrangements to fly Blue to John F. Kennedy International Airport. But when he went to pick her up, she wasn't there.
"Every person we spoke with, they couldn’t find her," DiTomaso told CBS News. "It was unbelievable."
DiTomaso waited at the airport for six hours on Friday night with no word of Blue's whereabouts.
“I was really worried that someone either took her, or she was hanging out on a carousel somewhere and nobody was feeding her,” he said.
On Saturday, Delta called DiTomaso to tell him that Blue was still in Atlanta and she was safe.
A Delta spokesperson told CBS that the airline “apologizes for the delay” and that “Delta is investigating the cause.”
