ATLANTA, Feb. 9, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBank Atlanta) announced today that it has appointed two new members to its Affordable Housing Advisory Council (Advisory Council).
Clarissa Johnson McAdoo currently serves as executive director of the Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, a provider of affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income citizens of Suffolk, Virginia. She is the authority's lead administrator for tax-exempt bond initiatives for the creation of affordable multifamily housing developments statewide, and the lead strategist in neighborhood revitalization efforts. McAdoo previously led community development initiatives at the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority. Over her 32-year career, she has held positions with several municipal governments in Virginia and Maryland.
Cindy Wiggins-Tiede currently serves as executive vice president of the Community Investment Corporation of the Carolinas (CICCAR), where she has gained more than 19 years of experience with the affordable housing loan consortium that provides long-term, permanent financing for the development of low- and moderate-income multifamily and elderly housing in North Carolina. She is a former member of Raleigh's Affordable Housing Taskforce and Wake County Human Services Community Development Committee, and is a former board member of HOMES4NC. Wiggins-Tiede serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Habitat for Humanity.
FHLBank Atlanta's Advisory Council comprises representatives from a diverse group of community and not-for-profit organizations actively involved in providing or promoting low- and moderate-income housing and community lending within the FHLBank Atlanta district. The Advisory Council provides advice to FHLBank Atlanta's Board of Directors regarding ways in which the Bank can enhance the effectiveness of its housing finance and community lending mission.
