HOUSTON, Feb. 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NGP Capital Resources Company (NASDAQ: NGPC) (the "Company") today announced that effective as of February 16, 2011, R. Kelly Plato, the Company’s Senior Vice President has been promoted to Chief Investment Officer of the Company’s advisor, NGP Investment Advisor, LP (the "Advisor"). Mr. Plato and Stephen K. Gardner, the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, have also been appointed to the Advisor’s Investment Committee. Mr. Plato, 41, who joined the Company in February 2005, began his career as a petroleum engineer with an independent exploration and production company, after which he has spent over twelve years in energy finance. He graduated with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1992 and earned a J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1996. Mr. Gardner stated, "Kelly and I have worked together side by side for the last six years at NGPC and I am pleased that he is now leading our efforts to grow the Company.
