Cinnaminson, NJ, March 2, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Quickie Manufacturing, the #1 cleaning tool company in America and provider of an extensive line of household products, recently introduced its latest advance, the Lysol Clean-Flip Sweeper. Featuring the proven power of Lysol, the Clean-Flip is the first and only sweeper that can offer the ability to disinfect while it cleans without requiring any extra work, mess or products. This product seeks to make household cleanup easier and more effective and will be situated as a direct competitor to the Swiffer® Sweeper from Procter & Gamble*.
Designed to provide consumers with a smarter and more versatile cleaning solution, the Clean-Flip delivers the convenience associated with quick cleaning and the results associated with traditional cleaning methods. The innovative "flip" feature reaches into tight spaces and cleans the floor and baseboard simultaneously. With a simple, no-touch way to attach the cleaning cloth to the sweeper, the Clean-Flip reduces the drippy mess and hassle associated with other sweepers. The Clean-Flip uses 66 percent more surface area than the leading sweeper’s cloths, making cleaning faster and more efficient.
"We found that the ability to disinfect was an important concern among consumers and the existing quick clean sweeper products didn’t satisfy this need," said Augie Deluca, Chief Marketing Officer of Quickie Manufacturing Corporation. "We partnered with Lysol to create a truly innovative product that disinfects, but still has the convenience of a quick clean sweeper."
Ross Ullman, Marketing Director for LYSOL, added "LYSOL has been trusted to help create healthy homes for more than 100 years. The LYSOL Clean-Flip Sweeper continues this heritage as it is the only sweeper that cleans and disinfects."
Prior to developing the Clean-Flip Sweeper, Quickie conducted consumer studies and found that 80 percent of category users incorrectly believe that current sweeper wipes disinfect. When given the opportunity to use the new Lysol Clean-Flip in place of their current tool, 70 percent of women preferred the Clean-Flip Sweeper to their current sweeper tool. Consumers also preferred the disinfecting wet mopping cloths and dry sweeping cloths by a similar margin to their current wipes.
The Lysol Clean-Flip Sweeper Starter Kit includes a sweeper, two wet cloths and two dry cloths with a suggested retail price of $10. The dry sweeping cloths and wet mopping cloths will be sold separately as well. Attendees of the 2011 International Home and Housewares Show can stop by booth N6905, McCormick Place North Building to view the Clean-Flip and to meet company executives.
