RENO, Nev., May 10, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- XpertX® Inc., supplier of live-action keno systems for casinos worldwide, announced Nevada contracts to supply new equipment at two locations along with additional agreements covering the continuing expansion of its state-wide keno linked progressive games, MegaKeno® and Mega10®. With these latest expansions, the company's equipment now powers all the live keno operations in casinos across the entire Reno/Sparks area, and the company continues to transform the long-time popular game with a growing network of locations offering its keno progressive games and latest online technology.
Contracts covering new equipment are with the Circus Circus in Reno, part of the MGM Resorts International portfolio of properties, and the El Cortez Hotel & Casino, located in downtown Las Vegas and named the best of Las Vegas for keno in the city's 2011 newspaper readers' poll. Both locations procured the company's latest touch-screen based system with its advanced keno auditing. In addition, there are pending agreements with both locations to present the company's progressive games, MegaKeno® and Mega10® and provide players with added opportunities to win large keno jackpots.
Two other contracts with the Eldorado Hotel Casino, and Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, both located in Reno, further expand the company's network of casinos offering the linked progressive keno games.
More than two dozen casinos across the State now offer special 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10-spot tickets providing opportunities to win progressive jackpots including the Mega10® which currently pays more than one-million dollars for hitting 10 out of 10 on a special $1.50 bet.
"In a recent market study, we learned that just adding the progressive links and the internet display with no other changes to the game or its marketing, increased keno write by more than 10 percent," reports Eric Thomassian, who founded XpertX in 1987 and continues to serve as its president.
Chuck Thomas, a twenty-year veteran of keno operations at Circus Reno, already has seen revenue improvement just in the few weeks since the system has gone live. "We've seen a good upside with a bump in customer write."
At Grand Sierra in Reno, Tom Sullivan, executive director of slots, poker and keno, explains that XpertX affords two key advantages. "The progressive link provides us with an opportunity to present a higher dollar value game, and installing the latest technology with its ability to link keno audit directly to accounting allowed for an overall quicker and easier gaming procedure for our casino."
Joe Woody, Chief Financial Officer for El Cortez, the casino named best of Las Vegas for keno in the city newspaper readers' poll for this year as it has in previous years, reports that their operations run a "loose" game and repeat customers are key. The casino is replacing XpertX equipment with its latest versions. "Over the years, XpertX helped keep our operations running probably five years beyond the life of the older equipment," says Woody. "We are a bottom-line driven operation, and we knew XpertX would be right for us as we looked to improve our appeal to our loyal customers with new games and to facilitate our operations with better technology."
As an added benefit to its participating casinos, XpertX runs live updates on its progressive games online at . This is in addition to providing properties with the Keno Information Network (KIN) and a special website to display live keno results, . Many properties also elect to use the company's system to televise live keno draws to their guests in their rooms.
