SAN DIEGO, May 11, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Henry Bros. Electronics, Inc. (HBE), has completed installation of a $2.2M global enterprise access control system for a prestigious multinational university at campuses in North and South America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The system is based on the Lenel OnGuard System (a United Technologies Company) and all locations utilized the NEC ExpressCluster software for redundancy and database protection. The system included thousands of card readers, cameras, and other devices, as well as an existing database of over 200,000 cardholders. Custom scripting was orchestrated by the HBE engineering teams, which allowed imports from disparate databases to assign, monitor and control access levels. HBE's experience in global access control deployments, including with large multinational engineering firms, gave it the past performance qualifications, experience and presence in the various regions to deploy and support this expanded system. Other work included dormitory and campus construction projects, UPS design, workstation and server configurations and training, to test environment configurations and network topography and security designs that included very strict and custom Lenel communications implementation.
Ben Goodwin, President of HBE, a Kratos Company, stated, "We are very pleased that we are now able to announce this very important surveillance and security system contract award, which we have now successfully completed. This exemplifies the ability of Kratos and HBE to design, engineer, deploy and support high technology physical security and identity management solutions in an enterprise environment on a global basis. Our engineering and deployment teams have developed this expertise on large programs such as these and continue to invest in training and certifications on enterprise level platforms which sets us apart from many physical security integration companies."
