MARLTON, N.J. and MAKKAH, Saudi Arabia, May 17, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hill International (NYSE:HIL), the global leader in managing construction risk, announced today that a joint venture of Hill and TPM Engineering Consultancies has been awarded a contract by Al Manafie Real Estate Co. to provide project management services during the design and construction of Al Manafie Towers, a mixed-use development project located in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The four-year contract has an estimated value to the joint venture of approximately SAR 82.0 million ($21.9 million).
Twelve towers are planned as part of the SAR 3 billion ($800 million) development, each with a maximum height of 27 stories. The proposed built-up area for the development is in excess of one million square meters (10.8 million square feet) and will include hotels, apartments, retail facilities, hospital facilities, car parking and a bus station. A monorail connecting the development to the city's holy mosque is an integral part of the project.
